Mobile uPVC door repairs in Doncaster, we can help…
A uPVC door is locked and secured by a “multipoint lock,” or mpl for short. You operate this mpl by lifting the handle and then locking the door in place by turning the key. When new, they work great, but after years of use, they do fail. The average length of time they last is 10-12 years.
Does this mean a new door?
Not at all; we have specialised in uPVC door repairs in Doncaster since 1999. We only repair doors, so we will not try to sell you a new door. If you visit a double glazing installer with your door problem, they reply that the required parts are no longer available. This could be true, but in nearly every case, we will have an alternative multipoint lock that will give the same security as before.

How will you get the door open if it’s still locked?
We often get asked this question, but as an experienced locksmith, I know it will be fine. It will not involve removing the door from the hinges or any glass units. So, your door will suffer no damage. When the new mechanism is in, the door will work like it did when new, if not better. As part of the repair cost, the door will receive a full service and checkover.
Often, the main reason why a door locking mechanism does fail will be that the door has moved out of alignment. This will make it hard to lock the door. The locking points press against the door frame. High pressure on the door handle can wear out a lock prematurely when locking and unlocking.
