2. My composite door will not lock
Another common issue is when your composite door will not lock. The most common reason for this situation is one of two: either the door alignment or a multipoint lock failure. A simple test is to lift the handle while the door is open and try to lock it. If it does, then it’s alignment. If the lock still fails to engage, it will be a multipoint lock failure.
As before, SF Locksmith is your local Doncaster composite door repair specialist. They can fix all these problems.
3. The key will not turn on my composite door
Many modern composite doors now have high-security locks fitted. These locks are great at keeping unwanted intruders out but are more complex in design. This can increase the failure rate of these locks, which may result in the key not turning or sliding in.
If this happens to your door, you will need the services of a specialist like us. I just wanted to let you know that going on YouTube is not advisable here! All the different high-security locks require different skills for this situation. We will remove your lock and replace it with a three-star high-security cylinder, leaving you secure.
4. There is a draught from my composite door
It needs aligning if you feel the cold air around your composite door or can see daylight. Designers of composite doors have engineered the hinges to adjust for this issue. You have to be careful doing this yourself as they can be awkward and may result in making things worse. We will handle this.
5. The handles on my composite have broken
If the handle comes off in your hand, it is broken. The handle is still attached to the door but spins around. It likely relates to a failed gearbox. This will need attention.
Your composite door repair specialist in Doncaster can replace broken composite door handles. We carry a selection of chrome, gold, and white. We only use the brands Hoppe and FabFix. They are the best handles available today, different from the cheap ones that do not last.
